Toledo is a municipality located in central Spain. It is the capital of the province of Toledo. It is also the capital of autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha.  As of 2010, the city has a population of 82,489 and an area of 232.1 km 2 . It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive cultural and monumental heritage as one of the former capitals of the Spanish Empire and place of coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Muslim cultures, as well as the place where harsh religious persecutions were held against the Jews. The Angel’s Bridge , located on Toome hill (Estonia), was built in the 19th century and spans Lossi Street. The name is thought to come from a linguistic twist - part of the hill is landscaped like an English garden and the words "English"(inglise) and Angel (ingel) are nearly the same in Estonian. Local tradition says that when crossing it, you should hold your breath and make a wish! ( source ) When I cross the bridge I take a deep breath and start walking, but as the bridge is quite long, I always en up running the last part Aitäh Piret!

Eileen sent me a great metro map card from Paris! The Paris Métro or Métropolitain is the rapid transit metro system in Paris, France. It has become a symbol of the city, noted for its density within the city limits and its uniform architecture influenced by Art Nouveau. The network's sixteen lines are mostly underground and run to 214 km in length. There are 301 stations (384 stops), of which 62 facilitate transfer to another line. Bergen is the second largest city in Norway with a population of 262,500 as of July 25, 2011. Bergen is the administrative centre of Hordaland county. Greater Bergen or Bergen Metropolitan Area as defined by Statistics Norway, has a population of 386,300 as of July 25, 2011. Bergen is located in the county of Hordaland on the south-western coast of Norway. It is an important cultural hub in its region, recognized as the unofficial capital of Western Norway and sometimes also referred to as the Atlantic coast capital of Norway. Cologne is Germany's fourth-largest city and one of the major European metropolitan areas with more than ten million inhabitants. Cologne is located on both sides of the Rhine River. The city's famous Cologne Cathedral ( Kölner Dom ) is the seat of the Catholic Archbishop of Cologne. ( source ) Thank you all!

Nebraska is a state located on the Great Plains of the Midwestern United States. The state's capital is Lincoln and its largest city is Omaha. Once considered part of the Great American Desert (actually a very agriculturally productive prairie land), Nebraska is now a leading farming and ranching state. Nebraska gets its name from the archaic Otoe words Ñí Brásge , pronounced, or the Omaha Ní Btháska , pronounced, meaning "flat water", after the Platte River that flows through the state. Casemate Square is one of the two main areas people congregate in Gibraltar. The word casemate comes from the Spanish term meaning a fortified position, chamber or an armored enclosure; in fact early seventeenth century Spanish plans show this area as La Barcina. Gibraltarians are proud of the Casemate Square which they consider their central plaza, is located just a short distance away from the Gibraltar wall entrance and considered the principal entry way into Gibraltar. Gibraltar   is a British overseas territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean, overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. The territory itself is a peninsula of 6.843 square km whose isthmus connects to the north with Spain. The Rock of Gibraltar is the major landmark of the region and gives its name to the densely populated area with city status, it is home to almost 30,000 Gibraltarians. The sovereignty of Gibraltar is a major point of contention in Anglo-Spanish relations as Spain asserts a claim to the territory and seeks its return. Colleen (choke) sent me this card because of the special post mark she got for me. The Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the non-contiguous Upper and Lower peninsulas of the U.S. state of Michigan. Envisioned since the 1880s, the bridge was completed in 1957 only after many decades of struggles to begin construction. Designed by engineer David B. Steinman, the bridge (familiarly known as "Big Mac" and "Mighty Mac" ) connects the city of St. Ignace on the north end with the village of Mackinaw City on the south. It is the third longest in total suspension in the world and the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western hemisphere. The Mackinac Bridge carries Interstate 75 across the straits. Hawaii is the newest of the 50 U.S. states (August 21, 1959), and is the only U.S. state made up entirely of islands. It occupies most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. Hawaii has over a million permanent residents along with many visitors and U.S. military personnel. Its capital is Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu. The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian Island chain, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 2,400 km. At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight "main islands" are Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Maui, and Hawaiʻi. The last is by far the largest and is often called "The Big Island" to avoid confusion with the state as a whole. The archipelago is physiographically and ethnologically part of the Polynesian subregion of Oceania. The Eiffel Tower is an 1889 iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris that has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tallest building in Paris, it is the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair. The tower stands 324 m tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building.
