The Jamaica Flag was first flown on August 6, 1962, Jamaica’s Independence Day. The colors of the flag are gold, black and green. The gold represents their sunlight and mineral wealth, the black stands for hardships past and those to come and the green symbolizes agricultural wealth and hope.
