Kursky railway station, the biggest one in Moscow, dates back to 1860, when the first station building was constructed for the Kurskaya railway. P.P. Melnikov – minister of means of communication himself used to select the area for building up. His choice was unique: at that time it was the only Moscow station located beyond the city boundaries.
