Royal wedding and christening cards! Thank you, Alison!

I’m posting it rather late, but here it comes - a card from 3rd International London meet up (5th May 2012). Thank you all!

The Strait of Dover is the strait at the narrowest part of the English Channel. The shortest distance across the strait is from Dover in England, to Pas-de-Calais, France. On a clear day, it is possible to see the opposite coastline and shoreline buildings with the naked eye, and the lights of land at night. The strait is the busiest international seaway in the world, used by over 400 commercial vessels daily. ( source ) Thank you Veronique!

In 2011 I made a really great postcrossing friend from PC forum. She always sends me royal and map cards. Most of the UK royal cards are sent by Eileen. In December I received this surprise present from her: And inside I found a lot of yummy goodies: Like always – royal, map and flag cards. Wooden Christmas ornament. Obama chocolate from her trip to USA. Jerusalem themed chocolate from her trip to Israel. Package labels, Christmas badge. Rainbow Drops and my new favorite – Chorley Cakes. I ate all 4 in the same day! They are so so delicious! Thank you Eileen! Hope we have more swaps in 2012!

Glenfinnan Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Scotland. It was built between 1897 and 1901. Located at the top of Loch Shiel in the West Highlands of Scotland. The 21-arch single track viaduct was one of the largest engineering undertakings using concrete without reinforcing when it was built by Sir Robert McAlpine. Built entirely of concrete, the viaduct consists of 21 arches, each spanning 15m and has a maximum height of 30m offering spectacular views down Lochaber’s Loch Shiel. ( source ) Thank you Joan!
