Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (1952-) is a Russian politician who has been the President of Russia since 7 May 2012. Putin previously served as President from 2000 to 2008 and as Prime Minister of Russia from 1999 to 2000, and again from 2008 to 2012. A keen practitioner of martial arts, Putin has played a major role in the development of sport in Russia, notably, helping Sochi to win the bid for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Queen Silvia of Sweden (1943) is the Queen consort of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. Styled Her Majesty The Queen , Silvia is the mother of the heir apparent to the throne, Crown Princess Victoria. Before her marriage to the King of Sweden, Silvia Sommerlath worked at the Argentine Consulate in Munich, was an educational host during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, and served as the Deputy Head of Protocol for the Winter Games in Innsbruck in Austria. She also was briefly a flight attendant. She is a trained interpreter and speaks six languages: Swedish, her native languages German and Portuguese, as well as French, Spanish, and English. The Principality of Liechtenstein is a doubly landlocked alpine country in Central Europe. Its area is just over 160 sq. km, and it has an estimated population of 35,000. Its capital is Vaduz. The biggest town is Schaan. Liechtenstein is the smallest yet the richest German-speaking country in the world and the only country to lie entirely within the Alps. Liechtenstein is divided into 11 municipalities. Much of its terrain is mountainous, making it a winter sports destination. ( source ) It is known as a principality as it is a constitutional monarchy headed by a prince. Hans-Adam II (1945), is the reigning Prince of Liechtenstein. On 30 July 1967, he married Countess Marie Aglaë Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau (1940) who, upon her husband's accession to the throne, became Her Serene Highness The Princess of Liechtenstein . The current royal family of Luxembourg consists of the reigning grand duke, Henri, his wife Maria Teresa, their children: Guillaume, Félix, Louis, Alexandra and Sébastien, and Grand Duke Jean, the father of the reigning grand duke, who abdicated in 2000 and still holds the title of Grand Duke. The family is completed by Princess Tessy, the wife of Prince Louis, and their two sons: Princes Gabriel and Noah. The Niagara Falls , located on the Niagara River draining Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, is the collective name for the Horseshoe Falls and the adjacent American Falls along with the comparatively small Bridal Veil Falls, which combined form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world and has a vertical drop of more than 50m. In 2011 I made a really great postcrossing friend from PC forum. She always sends me royal and map cards. Most of the UK royal cards are sent by Eileen. In December I received this surprise present from her: And inside I found a lot of yummy goodies: Like always – royal, map and flag cards. Wooden Christmas ornament. Obama chocolate from her trip to USA. Jerusalem themed chocolate from her trip to Israel. Package labels, Christmas badge. Rainbow Drops and my new favorite – Chorley Cakes. I ate all 4 in the same day! They are so so delicious! Thank you Eileen! Hope we have more swaps in 2012!
