The flag of Sardinia , popularly known in Sardinia also as the Four Moors flag is the traditional and officially recognized flag of the island, now an Autonomous Region of Italy. The flag consists of a St George's Cross, with a maure (moor's head) in each quarter. ( source ) Thank you Margherita!

Tortoreto is a small town, pop. 7,836, on the Adriatic sea in Italy. It has two distinct parts. The old town is on a hill not far from the Adriatic and the new part, usually referred to as Tortoreto Lido, is seaside and located on SS 16. It can be reached by direct rail service or by flying to the Pescara airport and then traveling 45 km to north. The comune of Alba Adriatica was created in 1956 by splitting it off from Tortoreto. In the Council of State on 8 October 2003, Queen Margrethe gave her consent to the marriage of Crown Prince Frederik to Mary Elizabeth Donaldson, an Australian marketing consultant whom the prince met when he was attending the Sydney Olympics in 2000. The wedding took place on 14 May 2004 at Copenhagen Cathedral. On 25 April 2005 the Danish royal court announced that Crown Princess Mary was pregnant with the couple's first child, and on 15 October 2005 she gave birth to a Prince. As it is a tradition in the Royal House that kings are named either Frederik or Christian, the baby was baptized Prince Christian Valdemar Henri John on 21 January 2006. ( source ) Thank you Betty!

The flag of San Marino was officially adopted on April 6, 1862. It is one of the world's oldest flag. San Marino claims to be the oldest republic in the world which is still existent. The flag of San Marino consists of two horizontal stripes of white and blue respectively. The coat of arms of San Marino is placed in the center of the San Marino flag. The blue stripe symbolizes the sky and the white color stands for the mountains and snow which caps Mt. Titano, San Marino's highest point. Lake Maggiore ( Lago Maggiore ) is a large lake located on the south side of the Alps. It is the second largest of Italy and largest of southern Switzerland. Lake Maggiore is the most westerly of the three great prealpine lakes of Italy, it extends for about 70 km between Locarno and Arona. The climate is mild in both summer and winter, producing Mediterranean vegetation, with beautiful gardens growing rare and exotic plants. Well-known gardens include those of the Isola Madre, Isola Bella and the Isole di Brissago, that of the Villa Taranto in Verbania, and the Alpinia botanical garden above Stresa.
